Regular gasoline cannot be used to fill these gas-powered cars, which can be a real hassle for some. Batteries are all you will need to power your electric version. Some remote-controlled cars come with rechargeable battery packs so you do not have to keep buying new batteries when the juice runs out.
Another great reason to go with an electric RC car is the option to use them indoors. Many people enjoy using their electric autos indoors the most, and it really is not an option to use gas-powered cars indoors.
A notable trait of gas-powered cars is the noise. If you are someone who prefers to use your radio controlled car indoors then you would want to go with electric. Gas-powered cars make a substantial amount of noise even outdoors, so using it indoors probably would not be the best idea.
Remote-controlled gas vehicles release smoke into the air as they operate. This can be harmful to the environment. Electric RC cars do not release any kind of harmful chemicals into the environment.
There are some ways a gas-powered RC car performs better. One such thing is the top speed of gas cars which is usually significantly higher than anything radio controlled vehicles have to offer. Also gas-powered cars will last quite a bit longer than their battery-powered counterparts.
