The Awesome Infiniti G37 Convertible
For all those people who have been whining for years about the unwillingness of Infiniti to bring us a convertible version of the coupe, shut your mouth because the new 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible is now here! The M30 was the first shot Infiniti took at building a luxuruy convertible.
The convertible gets a larger trunk to accomodate the roof, aluminum trim, and special sport seats. All Infiniti vehicle come with a plethora of accessories and this one is no different with a Bose sound system, heated seats, a wind shield, and auto climate control. Usually convertibles have a terrible stereo system, but the Bose system in the G37 will compensate for wind noise when the top is down. A tonneau cover disguises the three piece roof which rests in the trunk when the convertible feature is enabled. The top drops in less than a minute.
It looks like Infiniti designed this car as a convertible from the beginning with its wide track and reinforced chassis to hold the convertible top and motors. Of course the convertible is a bit heavier over the regular hartop model due to the added weigh of the convertible motor and accessories. At over 400 pounds. heavier than the 2 door and over 100 pounds. exceeding the similar BMW convertible.
Engine wise, the Infiniti G37 convertible has a 3.7L V6 engine producing 327hp and 267lb.lb feet of torque. Available with a excellent six-speed manual included in the sport package or a 7 speed auto. The convertible also includes 19-inch rolling stock, enhanced brakes, and sport-tuned steering. Magnesium shift paddles are also included on all automatic cars. The MSRP for the Convertible is almost 45k.It is imperitive to pay a little extra to get a stick shift version of the trans.
