Birmingham Airport Travel Information
Since its humble beginnings just before the second world war began, the airport has now grown in stature. Over 9 million passengers travel through Birmingham Airport each year. This includes domestic and international flight passengers . It is no wonder then that today Birmingham is one of the UK top six busiest airports.
Within the airport, there are two main terminals. They are named terminal one and terminal two.The main terminal is T1. This is where passengers can find the check in desks for flights. There are over 30 airlines which use this facility on the ground floor of the terminal building. Passengers require to check in at least 3 hours before their flight takes off. When flying from the airport to International destinations. If passengers are travelling to Europe, they to need to arrive and check in at least 2 hours before the flight depart. 90 minutes is required for passengers flying domestic flights from Birmingham Airport to other UK Airports.
The time of arrival for check in by passengers has been increased due to the tightening levels of security by airports around the globe. Around 45 minutes before take off ,passengers can generally board flights. This could vary depending on each airline. Check with the airline before travelling. As each airline have their own policies. Travellers are always best to check in the event they miss their flight.
Passengers can find several facilites for themselves on terminal one. There is a Burger King to keep everyone happy. You can buy a coffee and sandwich from two outlets . If you wish light refreshment, travellers can purchase alcohol from a bar/pub. There are changing facilities located close to the toilet area within the departure area. For those passengers travelling with small children and babies. If you have forgotten to charge your mobiles before travelling you can use the pay phone and internet service. Both can be located in the lounge part .
If you wish to do some last minute shopping. Travellers can find a number of shops offering various services. Gifts and accessories can be purchased for any present which you have still have to buy for friends or relatives. There are many products to be purchased at the airport if you have any spare money left before catching your flight. The teenagers can be kept occupied before flying by playing the games and amusements . They can be found opposite Starbucks Coffee shop.

Airports can be crazy. One of the biggest problems that I have found is when you take something to the airport that isn’t on the approved list of items to take. Make sure no matter what you take that you are taking something that they will allow through. Even if you are taking something like an oxygen concentrator make sure it is one that they would allow on the plane.
